Welcome to our new web site, here you can browse the site and find out whatever you need to know. We have 6 lakes with others in development to cater for all tastes. Pleasure, match, specimen and trout. If there is anything you need to know and cannot see it on our site please feel free to contact us on the (contact us) page and we will get back to you with the information you need.
As you will see, we try to accommodate all anglers whatever your requirements and access is second to none, parking is directly behind most pegs. Although there are no permanent platforms, the banks are gently sloping and are grass covered which eases setting up and getting comfortable.
We have a well stocked lake that is an awesome match venue, (Halifax) This lake is stuffed with stockie carp and tench to 4lb but also hold a huge head of what we like to call our resident carp. These carp go well into double figures with fish of 14lb -16lb are not uncommon.
The matches are on a pre-booked basis and keepnets are supplied by the fishery, you only need to bring your landing net with you. Match fees are £6 and we can accommodate up to 32 anglers on Halifax. The matches are commonly won with well over 100lb with good back up weights, the record currently stands at just under 200lb.
The fishing can be hectic to say the least, as can be seen by the 170lb catch shot held here by Tony Gregory, the son of the 3 times UK match record holder Steve Gregory who is also a regular here. That will tell you just how good the fishing is here, to attract such good anglers as that.Tony Gregory with a 170lb bag taken on Miracle Baits pellet and paste while on a fishing article for Sheffield Angling Star in 2010.
We offer some excellent pleasure fishing, from roach, rudd, tench, bream to carp. There are 3 main lakes for pleasure, Spitfire and Hurricane are adjoining lakes that are secluded and offer excellent sport with good bags of all species possible on all manner of baits and techniques. There is a massive head of fish in these lakes and not exclusively carp. Skimmers and roach/rudd can be targeted to amount a huge bag, fishing maggot or worm and caster or pellet over groundbait for the tench and skimmers. For the carp it is advisable to step up your tackle as they can go big and will certainly pull your string as they say. Pellet and paste works well for the carp and fishing down the margins can be deadly especially later in the day.
Pete the bailiff is usually on hand to give out impartial advice and you should heed his advice as no-one knows the fishery like him, he will put you right on the fish and can even supply you with pellets and paste at a good price.
For those who fancy a bit more of a challenge Stirling could be the choice for you. Stirling offers the chance of specimen fishing without having the expence of syndicate fees. Carp in here go well into doubles with quite a few 20's to tickle the appetite, night fishing and weekends are catered for but must be pre-booked.
There is also a good head of silvers in here, huge roach and perch as well as big bream and lots and lots of good sized skimmers that can be caught well on feeder tactics. It's not uncommon to have 30-50lb of skimmers of 1lb+ a piece in a sitting as well as the odd 1lb plus roach.
We have a trout lake (Mosquito) that is fly only, this is stocked with rainbows and brownies to 8-1/2lb.
Lancaster is currently a syndicate lake, this has a very good head of specimen carp.
